Kitchen Volunteer

Overview:

We serve three meals a day to up to 50 guests. We are very fortunate that we have a very giving community. Our kitchen volunteers assist in cooking and serving nutritious meals and snacks for our adult guests.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Cooking well-rounded meals from our pantry
  • Bringing in homemade meals and serving to guests
  • Working with our kitchen manager to plan meals

  • Baking
  • Cooking

  • Ability to treat guests with dignity and respect
  • Ability to understand and maintain boundaries
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Qualifications:

• Imagination
• Positive attitude
• Safe Food Handling experience or willingness to learn
• Ability to work with people from all walks of life

Reports To: staff onsite

Time Commitment: 2-4 hour shifts, frequency is flexible

Housekeeping Volunteer

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Housekeeping (Emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing, sweeping & mopping)
  • Other Duties as needed

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to take and follow directions

Time Commitment: 2-hour shifts are preferred, but scheduling is flexible

Donation Sorting/Organizing Volunteer

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sorting through and determining which donations are needed
  • Organizing donations

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to take and follow directions
  • Enjoyment of organizing
  • Utilizes best judgment in determining which donations to reallocate

  • Organizational Skills

Maintenance

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Painting
  • Cleaning
  • Yardwork (seasonally)
  • Special projects
  • Minor repairs

  • Comfortable working independently
  • Communication Skills
  • Familiarity with conducting minor repairs (if applicable)
